2. Status
By placing an order via our site (www.calatech.co.uk) you warrant that:
- You are legally capable of entering into binding contracts.
- You are a resident in the UK.
- You are accessing our site from the UK.
- When you register with Calatech, you will choose a contact email address and password. You are responsible for all sessions and transactions taken under these details. Do not disclose your password or login details to anyone else. If you believe your account has been compromised, change your details immediately.
- You are of legal age to purchase any age-restricted items.
3. Contract Formation
After placing an order, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt. This does not mean your order has been accepted. Acceptance is confirmed when we send you a dispatch confirmation.
4. Delivery
- We offer next working day delivery on all devices, excluding Saturdays and Sundays, via Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For or Special Delivery. Special Delivery is guaranteed by 1pm on the day of delivery.
- We only post to UK addresses.
- We can only post orders to the billing address unless valid photo ID is provided. If shipping and billing addresses do not match, we will request photographic ID. If you cannot provide this, we will only ship to the billing address.
- Orders placed before 2 PM on weekdays (Monday to Friday) will be posted the same day. Orders placed after 2 PM on Friday will be posted the following working day (Monday).
5. Warranty Policy
- All devices are sold with a 15-month warranty, unless stated otherwise in the product description.
- Minor Fault devices are sold with a 14-day warranty.
- The warranty covers manufacturer faults and does not cover:
- Damage by water or any form of liquid.
- General wear and tear (e.g., battery health depreciating, scratches).
- Damage caused by attempting to repair or modify the device by yourself or a third party.
- Improper use of accessories.
- Accidental or intentional damage.
- We comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, covering you for a minimum of 30 days. For faults within this period, you can return your device for a full refund, repair, or exchange. After 30 days, the warranty covers repairs only.
- To claim, contact us via email, phone, or Facebook. Remove any iCloud/Google accounts and passcodes before returning.
- Exchanges will be like-for-like where stock is available, or you can choose an upgraded model and pay the difference.
- Attempting to repair the device yourself voids the warranty.
6. Battery Capacity
- Devices are checked to ensure battery health is over 80/85%, depending on the grading (Pristine, Excellent, Good & Fair). Devices with significant battery drain or below 80% health will have the battery replaced.
- Newer devices may show a battery message or not display battery health in settings; this will be noted in the listing.
- If you want the battery replaced, contact us for a small charge.
7. Returns Policy
- We provide a 30-day cooling-off period for change of mind returns. Warranty claims are applicable up to 15 months, depending on the device (see warranty terms).
- Contact us via email, Facebook, or phone to initiate a return. Send the device back via an insured postal method at your cost.
- We are not responsible for damage or loss during return transit. Package the device securely.
- We refund the device cost but not postage charges.
- For brand new items that are purchased, opened, and returned, a restocking fee of 20% will be deducted from the refund.
8. Payments and Pricing
- Payments can be made by debit or credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, or cash.
- Prices are as quoted on our site, except in cases of obvious error.
- Prices may change, but this does not affect orders with a Dispatch Confirmation.
- We are not obligated to provide items at an incorrect (lower) price if the error is obvious and unmistakable.
9. Cancellations
- If you change your mind and wish to cancel your order, contact us. If your device has not been dispatched, we can cancel and refund your payment.
- If already dispatched, you have 30 days to return the device in its original condition at your cost. We do not refund postage charges.
- The device must return undamaged and in the same condition as sent. Excessive use within the 30-day period may incur a restocking fee.
- For brand new items that are purchased, opened, and returned, a restocking fee of 20% will be deducted from the refund.
10. Data Removal
- Customers must remove all personal data from devices before sending them for returns or repairs. We are not responsible for any data loss.
11. Risk and Title
- Risk of loss or damage to items passes to the customer upon delivery. Ownership of items does not transfer until full payment is received.
12. Insurance and Lost Items
- Items sent to us are insured up to £150. Customers should use insured postal methods for returns. We are not liable for loss or damage during transit back to us.
13. Our Liabilities
- We warrant that any product purchased from us is of satisfactory quality and reasonably fit for common purposes.
- Our liability is limited to the purchase price and foreseeable losses. This does not include liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, for fraud, or any matter where liability cannot be excluded by law.
- We are not responsible for indirect losses such as loss of income, business, profits, contracts, anticipated savings, data, or management time, whether caused by tort (including negligence), breach of contract, or otherwise, even if foreseeable.
- We are not liable for any damage, injury, or loss caused by improper use of the device, including but not limited to fire, explosion, or harm resulting from misuse or unauthorized modifications.
- Customers must follow all safety guidelines provided with the device. Failure to do so may void the warranty and our liability for any resulting harm.
Sell My Tech - Terms & Conditions
When filling out our sell form to receive a quote, please note this is an initial estimate based on the details you provide.
1. Quotation and Final Offer
- The price we will pay for your device will be finalised after we have received, fully checked, and tested it to ensure it matches the provided grade and details. If discrepancies are found, we will revise our offer accordingly.
2. Data Removal and Device Preparation
- Please remove all personal data, including iCloud/Google accounts, from your device before sending it to us. We are not responsible for your personal data. Where possible, we will wipe all data before evaluating the device.
- All SIM and memory cards must be removed from the device. Any SIM or memory cards we receive will be destroyed, and we are not liable for replacement costs.
- Ensure any contracts involving your device are terminated prior to sending it. Failure to make payments on any contracts may result in your device being blacklisted.
- Devices with passcode or screen locks will need to have these removed. We will contact you if your device is locked upon receipt.
3. Device Condition and Grading
- Accurately grade your device according to our categories and descriptions. While we strive to pay the quoted price, it may be adjusted for discrepancies.
- If your device is high value and linked to an ongoing contract, we may require ID before payment to protect against blacklisted or fraudulent devices. Devices flagged as lost or stolen will be reported to authorities.
4. Unacceptable Devices
- We cannot accept devices blacklisted due to being reported lost or stolen.
- Devices not matching the described condition will have revised offers. Should you reject a revised offer, we will return the device free of charge, tracked.
5. Shipment and Liability
- We recommend using Royal Mail Special Delivery for shipments, insuring your device up to £500 (with an option for £1000 insurance at additional cost).
- You are responsible for any damage, loss, or delays during transit to us.
- We accept original boxes, chargers, and accessories, but these do not increase the device's value and may not be returned.
6. Payment
- Payments for fully working devices are processed within 24 hours of receipt.
- Payments for faulty devices may take 1-3 working days due to necessary checks.
- Payments are made via BACs or PayPal. Ensure correct bank/PayPal details are provided as we do not accept liability for incorrect details.
7. Title and Risk
- Ownership of the device transfers to us once payment is made.
- Risk of loss or damage to items passes to the customer upon delivery.
8. Return Policy
- If you reject our amended offer, we will return your device within 1-2 working days. Failed delivery attempts will require you to arrange redelivery at your own cost.
- If no contact is made within 14 days after rejecting an offer, we will process payment at the amended price.
9. Additional Conditions
- Devices under 6 months old or on contract must be confirmed eligible for sale, with all payments up to date.
- Fraudulent activity, including selling blacklisted devices, will result in legal action.
- Devices not acceptable for purchase will be returned or recycled after 30 working days without response.
10. Liability
- We are not liable for unforeseeable losses or damages. Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the device.
- This does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or misrepresentation.
